Maja Dvoracek is a professional concert harpist. Since 2022, she is solo harpist at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Ghent/Antwerp.
Born in Ulm in November 1991, she began playing the harp at the age of ten with Ilse Rheynders. In the following years she received lessons from Ragnhild Kopp in Munich and was a junior student at the Zurich University of the Arts with Prof. Catherine Michel. Her Bachelor's studies took her to Brigitte Heitmeier at the Bremen University of the Arts and, from 2012 on, to the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre to Prof. Xavier de Maistre, from where she graduated as a Master of Music in 2017. In 2020, she completed her postgraduate studies (Konzertexamen) with Prof. Françoise Verherve at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
Since her student days, she has gained orchestral experience with various orchestras such as
the Hamburger Symphoniker,
the Ensemble l’arte del mondo,
the Thüringer Symphoniker,
the Baden-Baden Philharmonic,
the NDR Radio Philharmonic
and the HR Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist, she worked
with ‘Concerto Konstanz’,
the Brandenburg State Orchestra,
the Bach Collegium Frankfurt,
and more.
In 2015, she performed as a soloist with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in the concert hall ‘Glocke’ Bremen.
Maja has received further artistic inspiration in master classes with harpists such as Ernestine Stoop, Sylvain Blassel, Isabelle Moretti, Anneleen Lenaerts, Michelle Vuillaume and Marie-Pierre Langlamet.
In addition to the standard literature for her instrument, she devotes herself to the transcription of piano and chamber music works.
